Hazard and protection layers for any Swiss parcel
woom brings the official map layers that touch a Swiss parcel into one view, as a starting point for due diligence by investors, developers, owners and brokers. Search an address or click a parcel on the map, and woom renders each layer for that parcel from the federal geo.admin.ch WMS and the harmonized cantonal datasets on geodienste.ch.
Risk layers it covers
- Natural hazards: cantonal hazard maps (flooding, landslide, rockfall, avalanche), the natural hazard events register, Aquaprotect flood extents, surface runoff, seismic zones (SIA 261), radon and hail
- Contaminated sites: the cadastre of polluted sites and the register for public transport sites
- Protection and planning: heritage sites (ISOS), building zones, planning zones, watercourse space, groundwater protection zones, forest boundaries and building lines
- Environment: road and railway noise, noise sensitivity levels, air quality and climate scenarios
How it helps
Layers that can affect a parcel are grouped as impact layers. woom checks which of them actually hold data at the parcel and sets empty layers aside, so you see the evidence that applies.
- Compare two layers side by side with a swipe view
- Export the parcel classification as JSON, or parcel data as PDF, CSV or GeoJSON
- Add your own WMS service and copy any layer's source for QGIS
- Share a link or QR code to the parcel
Cantonal layers only appear where the canton has published the data.
Frequently asked questions
Which hazard and protection zones affect this parcel?
Select the parcel and open its impact layers. woom lists the hazard, contaminated-site, heritage, noise and planning layers that hold data at that location, each with its legend and source.
Does woom replace a legal or expert assessment?
No. woom surfaces evidence from official map layers. It is not complete due diligence, a final legal risk determination or legal advice. Confirm findings with the competent authority or a qualified expert.
Where does the data come from?
From the federal geo.admin.ch WMS (swisstopo, FOEN, MeteoSwiss and other federal offices) and from cantonal datasets published through geodienste.ch.
